Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
This policy explains what information the SeaGrid app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. SeaGrid is made by Ardemo Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 15526499) at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here.
The short version: we collect only what the game needs to work, we don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What we collect
Your account
- An anonymous account is created when you first open the app, so you can play without signing up. It has a random ID and a generated username (like RogueNavigator42).
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID and email address from Google, so you can get your progress back on another device. We never see your Google password.
Your games
- The puzzles you play, your times, whether you used undo or showed the solution, and when you played. We use these for your stats, streaks, achievements and best times.
- For the daily puzzle and friend challenges, your time is checked and ranked on our server. Other players see rankings and percentages; your friends see your username and challenge results.
Friends and notifications
- The friends you add, players you block, and the challenges you play.
- If you allow notifications, a device token from Apple so we can tell you about challenges, and your notification settings.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We learn which packs you've bought so we can unlock them, but we never receive your payment details.
Diagnostics
To find bugs and improve the game, the app may send crash reports and anonymous usage events (such as "puzzle finished"). These don't include your name or email, and aren't used for advertising.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies or analytics. Our hosting keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security, for a short time.
Why we use it
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), we rely on:
- Providing the service you asked for: your account, saved progress, rankings, friends, challenges and purchases.
- Our legitimate interests: keeping the game fair and secure, fixing crashes and improving the app.
- Your consent: push notifications, which you can switch off at any time in Settings.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. We use a few trusted providers to run SeaGrid, who process data only on our instructions:
- Supabase, which hosts our database and server functions.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Apple, for in-app purchases and push notifications.
- Crash reporting and analytics providers, if enabled, configured to store data in the EU or UK.
Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data until you delete your account. Crash reports and usage events are kept for no longer than 12 months.
Your rights and choices
- Delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently erases your account and all data linked to it.
- Reset progress on your device: Settings → Data → Reset progress on this device.
- Turn off notifications in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct, restrict or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
SeaGrid is suitable for all ages and doesn't ask for anyone's age, real name or contact details to play. If you believe a child has given us personal information and you'd like it removed, please contact us.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
